A lot depends on the chosen accommodation — both impressions and comfort of your stay in Baku!
As the Japanese entrepreneur Akio Morita (founder of Sony) said:
"Better the cheapest room in the best hotel than the best room in a cheap hotel."
Therefore, you should approach hotel selection with maximum attention!
We, the Visit Baku team, recommend using the trusted service Booking.com — here you'll find a wide selection of hotels and apartments for every taste and budget.
But! Avoid hotels with low ratings. As in other countries, in Baku there are no strict restrictions on unscrupulous hotel owners who may give your booked room to other people. Therefore, be sure to read reviews and check ratings before booking on Booking!
Best districts for renting accommodation in Baku
We have identified three districts that we consider the most successful for tourists:
1) Seaside Boulevard
Everything that is located near the boulevard or with a sea view is the heart of the city. From here it's easy to get to any part of Baku. For walking, this is an ideal place: nearby are museums, attractions and main tourist routes.
2) Old City (Icheri Sheher)
The historical fortress of Baku is a place where you can feel the spirit of the past. Maiden Tower, Shirvanshahs' Palace — all this is within a few minutes' walk. If you like retro atmosphere and tranquility, this district will definitely appeal to you. This is also part of the Seaside Boulevard, but we're talking specifically about hotels inside the fortress walls.
3) White City
Modern Baku, which began actively building from 2007 on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev. This is a new generation district — with exquisite architecture, parks and continuation of the Seaside Boulevard.
By January 2024, construction of 91 buildings has been completed. Among the attractions are the work "Big Apple" by sculptor Enrique Cabrera, the bronze sculpture "Thinker" by Joseph Klibansky, the impressive "Dragon" 4.2 meters high and even an ancient olive tree over a thousand years old.
On July 2, 2025, the "Uzbekistan" park was laid here.
If you like modernity, space and style — White City is definitely for you!
We wish you a wonderful stay in our city!
Be sure to take a walk along the new Seaside Boulevard of the White City — this is one of the most beautiful places in modern Baku.
🚴 You can ride a bike or walk!
Route: we start from the Marriott hotel (at the beginning of the White City boulevard) and go to the State Flag Square.
The total length of the route is about 7 kilometers (4.35 miles).
